Who doesn’t want to have sleek, sexy hair like the models in the shampoo commercials? Everyone wants it and they have from the moment of the first image of a woman with beautiful hair. I can remember in the 1970s washing my hair with a product called Gee, Your Hair Smells Terrific. It was guaranteed to have boys sniffing your hair in no time. It really did smell good but I can’t recall any of the guys I knew telling me how great my hair smelled.

Still, there are things you can do to have the healthiest, most gorgeous hair that you can grow. Here are some tips.

Eat Healthy

It is important to get plenty of protein. You should also make sure that you aren’t anemic or have thyroid issues because these can both affect your hair. Take a good multi -vitamin every day.

Skip a Day

Skip a day, or even two, between washings. Shampooing your hair too often can make it dry and brittle.

Shampoo Gently

Start with a good shampoo and conditioner – don’t scrimp. Use lukewarm or cool water – never hot.

Don’t pile your hair on top of your head and then scrub. Wash your hair by gently massaging your scalp and then working your way down the strands of hair. Bunching it up can cause breakage which is going to make your hair look dry and frizzy.

Double Your Rinsing Time

Shampoo residue is one of the main reasons hair lacks shine. Always rinse your hair thoroughly after you shampoo. Your last rinse should be as cool as you can stand. Once you get out of the shower blot your hair don’t rub the towel over it.

Regular haircuts help. I also use a small dab of a shine product to keep the ends from becoming frizzy.
