Who Says Vegas Isn’t for Kids?

When I think of Las Vegas, my brain immediately goes to bright lights, drunken gamblers and hookers. Hey, what can I say; I have seen the cat-house on HBO. But like any big city, I am sure there is more to the city of bright neon lights than just people getting killed on CSI and showgirls.

Right? Of course!

I’m going to prove to you that there are things to do in Las Vegas for the whole family, should you choose to bring them.

Tournament of Kings at the Excalibur Hotel. Think Medieval Times, Las Vegas style. In the era of castles and gallant knights, kings would gather the nobility for fanciful feasts and tournaments of valor in celebration of important events. Watch knights joust while the whole family eats with their hands. Sounds like fun, right?

The Stratosphere Tower. The Stratosphere Tower Las Vegas is the tallest freestanding observation tower in the United States and the tallest building west of the Mississippi River; guests enjoy panoramic views of the Las Vegas Strip and the surrounding valley.

Adventuredome Theme Park at Circus-Circus. America’s largest indoor theme park featuring the world’s only indoor double-loop, double-corkscrew roller coaster, The Canyon Blaster.

M & M’s World. Four stories of every color imaginable of the sweet candy coated treat. What more could a kid want than floor to ceiling M&M’s?

Madame Tussauds Las Vegas. 100 exquisite wax figures of the world’s most famous stars, all in one place.

I think it’d be pretty fun to do Vegas with kids! And we’ve done the Stratosphere and Excalibur, so I know my kids would love that.

I would love to visit the M&M’s too.

We went for the first time last year and I am still not so sure I’d love to go with the kids. Although my kids would love that Tournament of Kings thing! Would maybe be fun when mine are a bit older!

The M+Ms would be fun. For now though, I’m glad I did the whole Vegas thing before I had kids ;-)

It never dawned on me to bring the kids on a Vegas vacation. Will have to “pin” this idea for the next summer or so! What a great idea. Thanks for sharing.

We took our family vacation to Vegas a few years ago and our kids loved it. The Tournament of Kings was a huge hit with the little ones and even the teens. We stayed at the Stratosphere and spent every morning at the pool. I loved the remodeled rooms. My Tweens and teens loved the rides at the Adventuredome. We got them an all day bracelet so they could rise to their hearts content. It was a great family vacation and there was something for everyone. Just be ready to explain to your kids why girls in Vegas can’t afford enough clothes to cover their whole body.
