Trend Love: Statement Earrings

I’ve said  before that fashion doesn’t have to be scary and while I know that large, bold earrings can seem like an impossible fashion accessory to pull off, I’m here to tell you that it’s not.

There are many ways to infuse this trend into your daily wardrobe, whether you’re rocking a dressy nighttime frock or daytime casual – statement earrings really can spice up your look in a fun and bright way.

Above, you’ll notice how you can wear your hair to show off statement earrings in a flattering way. While they may look intimidating hanging up in the store, they really can be a great addition to a simple look.

I’m a big fan of wearing basic staple pieces and then dressing that look up with bold accessories, and statement earrings are one way that I have recently started to do that, both in casual styles as well as the dressy.

Little black dresses are a must-have for any woman’s wardrobe because it’s one of the most versatile pieces you can have. You can change up the look so easily with your accessories, whether you rock some fantastic heels and a clutch that pops or a pair of statement earrings like those pictured, you can make an otherwise boring LBD rock with color by simply adding a fabulous accessory.

A pair of the chandelier earrings pictured here, for example, would be perfection with this dress. The coral gold hooped chandeliers are a lovely way to bring in summer colors as are the turquoise and bold yellow enamel chandelier earrings. Don’t be afraid to add some bold colors in with your look!

But if you’re not quite ready for color and want to start with a more classic look, then start with the silver and rhinestone statement earrings and gradually work your way into the bolder trend.

Another staple that everyone should have in their wardrobe is a great pair of jeans and an eyelet top like those pictured below. Step this look up a notch for a great lunch with your honey or best gal pals by adding a pair of great statement earrings like those below. The bold turquoise and orange is a great way to add a pop of color.

If you’re looking for a way to tie in the circular design of the eyelet top, the light sky blue topaz earrings are a great way to incorporate that design element and add a bit of bling. Finally, classic gold is aways a fantastic choice for a white top and jean ensemble.

 

Statement earrings don’t have to be a scary staple in your wardrobe; in fact, they can be a fun splurge on new trends. I’m a big proponent of investment pieces such as a good pair of jeans, great shoes and handbags – and while some of these earrings may be pricey, I would be more likely to purchase their “knock-off” counterparts so I could have more fun with a variety of different versions of these statement earrings, allowing for more fun with this fashion trend.

Have fun with fashion, experiment and step up your LBD or white tee and jeans with a pair of statement earrings – you won’t regret it.
