Trend Love: Chevron Print

Chevron prints are all over right now – clothing, home decor, stationary – you name it and you can find it in a chevron print, so we’ve offered up two outfits from the lovely Sherry of Life of the Party that can meet the needs of the bold fashionista and the more reserved who might like to try out this trend.

As a person who usually avoids most patterns, this is one that I feel I can do simply because the bulk of it is solid in color with a slight stripe going in an angled direction. This makes a very bold statement if it’s in color or if it’s like the version in the main image; it’s very neutral so it provides interest but it doesn’t take me out of my personal style comfort zone.

I like the use of coral with the neutral chevron – it’s a nice pop of solid color with the neutral pattern – a perfect way to blend color with pattern in my opinion – especially for those of us who are just dipping our toes in the color and print department.

With the summer months upon us, a bold and bright color is very fitting and a muted counterpart is an appropriate match. A crisp white top for example, as pictured below, is a perfect fit for this bold pink chevron skirt if you are a bold print kind of gal. Navy blue wedges are a fantastic contrast to the magenta and a nice additional pop with the cluster of bracelets bringing it altogether.

Chevron prints can be worked into anyone’s wardrobe when chosen in the right color, length and width of stripe – it doesn’t have to be a scary print. Browse your local stores and choose an item that works for you. Skirts seem to be the most flattering in this print and they’re fantastic for the upcoming summer season.

If you love this print but not on you…then try it in a shower curtain or elsewhere in your home.
