Everyone looks more beautiful wearing a bright smile. It’s the first thing we see when we greet someone. It’s the first impression the world gets of us. A bright smile leaves a lasting impression. Why not make it a good one?

Here are some tips to keep your pearly whites pearly white

Brusha.Brusha.Brusha: Make every effort to brush your teeth within an hour of drinking or eating foods with dark pigments. This will help prevent stains by washing away the culprit before it has the time to stain.

Chew on this: If you are out and about and have no access to your toothbrush, fear not. Grab a piece of sugar-free gum and chew it like it’s your job. The saliva will help wash away stains by flushing the teeth.

Happy Birthday to You: Brush your teeth for two full minutes – about the time it takes to sing Happy Birthday to You, in it’s entirety, three times.

Lighten your war paint: If you tone down your make up, it will make your teeth look whiter and less washed out.

The lady in red: Quick fix: use a true shade of red lipstick to make your teeth sparkle. But beware; stay away from shades of red with undertones of orange because they will make your teeth look yellow.

If you follow these easy steps your smile will stay bright. For an extra bright smile, I use Colgate Vivid White and Crest Pro Whitening Strips.

What are your secret tips to a bright and beautiful smile?

I’ve read that drinking drinks that tend to harm/stain teeth (like tea and sodas) with a straw is a good idea.

For my wedding, I used Crest White toothpaste and the whitening strips! I also heard that it is not a good idea to brush your teeth shortly after you drink red wine, since it can damage the enamel. :-)

I’ve been told about drinking coffee, soda, tea, etc through a straw to help keep teeth white.
