I am not sure what to think of the latest news of a cannibalistic attack on a Miami Causeway. Seems the entire world has caught zombie fever. What did we really expect with all the zombie movies and the growing popularity of The Walking Dead?
I know one thing; I didn’t expect it. I didn’t expect a 31-year-old Miami man, Rudy Eugene, to be found naked eating another man’s face near the west end of the MacArthur Causeway and Biscayne Boulevard on a Memorial Day weekend. Shocking, right?
It’s suspected that Rudy Eugene was high on a new generation version of LSD that is a stimulant, known on the streets as bath salts. There has been a surge in cases of patients showing up in the emergency rooms around Miami.
Apparently, bath salts cause those who take it to run a high fever, which causes them to get delirious and discombobulated. They also have superhuman strength and are prone to attacking people with their jaw. Hmmm, sounds like a zombie to me.
Mr. Eugene was just the latest in a long line of recent zombie like attacks brought on by bath salts. Unfortunately, Rudy Eugene did not respond to police when they told him to stop eating his victim’s face (he removed the victim’s nose and eyes with his teeth). He merely growled and continued on with his ravaging of his victim’s face.
After watching in sheer horror and repeatedly telling Mr. Eugene to stop, the police were forced to shoot Rudy Eugene to death in order to save the victim, who is currently in critical condition.
Can you imagine driving on the Causeway and seeing this taking place? I would have wrecked for sure.
I’m interested to see what Rudy Eugene’s toxicology report shows. Will it be proven that bath salts is to blame or will we have proof positive that the zombie apocalypse is upon us?
Is it wrong that I’m hoping he was just a junkie and NOT a zombie?
What are your thoughts on the MacArthur Causeway zombie attack?
