Spring Break Destination: Indoor Water park

Spring break season has officially started. The question is where to take your children. Many of us can’t afford to take the Florida vacations that we might have in previous years. Many of us will be celebrating spring break with an awesome staycation, but if you really need the getaway and you are on a budget, why not an indoor water park?

This year, we are kicking off spring break by visiting our first water park. We’ve never been and I was a bit leery because my little girls don’t know how to swim very well. But the girls love water and going to a hotel with a pool is every kid’s happy place.

Springtime in the Midwest, this means the weather is wet, cold and unpredictable. An indoor water park is the prefect remedy for cold weather cabin fever. The waterpark is kept a balmy 82 inside and the whole family can run around comfortably in their bathing suits.

Our destination included an elaborate enclosed waterpark with a five-story structure featuring a vaulted wood ceiling that covers a natural setting of palm trees, huts, inland lagoons and plenty of wet and wild water adventure.

After 5 hours of being waterlogged, jumping waves in the wave pool and slipping and sliding, the girls were finally ready to go up to the hotel room.

Tomorrow is another day but for the price, you really can’t beat an indoor water park to lift the spirits and put a little high quality, low cost fun back into your spring break.

What is your favorite spring break destination?

We just did this for a quick getaway over my son’s birthday! We headed north to the Canadian side of Niagara Falls and checked into Great Wolf Lodge up there: it was fantastic because the variety of water slides were just scary enough to be thrilling at his age level, while being safe and accessible enough for him to ride them.

We are big fans of indoor water parks, too! Especially when the kids are younger. We try to visit a different one each time but we love Key Lime Cove in Illinois and have been to that a couple times now. We also took a little trip to visit family for the weekend as our spring break came to a close. Time with the cousins was fun for them, too.

Our spring break has past but this is a great idea! So fun looking. I think the best reason to go to one of these would be no sunscreen needed!!

Wow, that looks like a fun waterpark! Our spring break is this week. I took the boys to Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg. We just stayed 3 nights but it was really fuN!

I’ve been meaning to take the family to Wolf Lodge in Pennsylvania. It sounds like a fun indoor waterpark for kids!
