Signs You Are Wearing the Wrong Bra Size
Finding the right bra size and fit can be a nightmare. Sometimes I think I’m overly picky, but I don’t want padding, or seams along the cups, but I do want support that doesn’t end up looking like I’m wearing my grandmother’s bra.
Measuring bra size doesn’t take a rocket scientist, but according to one study, 80% of us are wearing the wrong bra size!
If you’re wearing a bra that’s uncomfortable, that may be the first sign that it isn’t a right fit. Other telltale signs include bra straps that fall off your shoulder. When your bra strap is draped across your upper arm, it means the bra doesn’t fit.
This can sometimes be remedied by adjusting the strap, but when the strap doesn’t stay on your shoulder it means you’re not getting the support you need. The lack of support can lead to neck and back pain, not to mention sagging.
Another sign that you may be wearing the wrong size bra is if the band rides up in back. That means it’s too loose. The band needs to be level with our breasts or lower if we expect that youthful lift.
I actually broke down and went in to a lingerie shop and was fitted for a bra. It made a difference. Now I’ve read there’s a new kit available to make sure you’re wearing the right size bra. It comes with a color-coded measuring tape, cups, protective lingerie wash bag and video instructions for taking measurements.
It’s a whole new concept with cup sizes ranging from 1-10. The new sizing would be 2-34 for what now is a 34B. The bras sold in conjunction with this handy kit start at $60 and are available in 5 styles.
I think one of the reasons so many of us are wearing the wrong size is because were trying to buy an affordable bra and end up compromising fit. $60 for a bra is a lot of money in my book! Getting fitted for a bra didn’t cost me anything and the bras I bought were nowhere near $60.
