It’s a running joke in our house that I have to have an entire suitcase devoted to shoes whenever I travel. I am writing this in the car on the way to Texas A & M to attend an event with my husband and I have to admit that I brought three pairs of shoes to get me through from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon.
Personally I don’t find that excessive.
Anyway, as I was packing I started wondering what I really felt was necessary to my existence – besides makeup I mean. I guess I would have to say that a variety of cute shoes would be on that list of what I would take with me no matter what.
I guess the other thing would be my iPhone because it has nearly everything I need from camera to date book. I can technically carry on business as usual as long as my phone is with me.
A couple of years ago, I didn’t even have a cell phone, let alone one that could wake me up, order my food, talk to me, and play movies. Now it is listed as one of the most important possessions that I have.
Talking to other women about this was interesting. Some of the answers were:
- Flat irons and blow dryers
- Diet soda
- Dishwasher
- Kitchenaid (this might be third on my list)
- Laptop
There were others, but almost invariably, a cell phone was one of the two items. What about you? What can’t you live without?
