If you are anything like me you have goals, dreams, plans, and visions that just never seem to work out. Even if you come really close to achieving it something else always seems to come up.
One trend that I find intriguing is the Dream Board. Basically, you buy a large poster board in your favorite color (or white) and glue a copy of your favorite picture of yourself to the center.
Next you find images that symbolize the things you want to do or achieve and glue them onto the board around your picture with captions for each image. You can write phrases, words, or quotes as well.
It isn’t just for one aspect of your life. That big vacation you have always wanted to take can go right next to the image of you when you weighed 105 pounds. The more specific you are, the more impact this project will have on your life.
Add to it as you have new dreams and goals. As each goal is accomplished write the date in big black letters right under the image. Spend a few minutes of prayer, meditation, or quiet time every day while looking at your board.
It isn’t magic or some weird technique. Our minds accept whatever we tell them is true. It may take time but they eventually get it. If our minds believe that we are going to publish a novel then our decisions will push us in that direction, increasing the possibility that is really happens.
When you are focused on what you really want you are less likely to make decisions that derail your goals. For example, if you are prioritizing a trip to Paris you will be less likely to buy an expensive outfit on credit, preferring to put the money toward your trip.
If you have used a dream board what are your thoughts and advice?
