Organizing Your iPhone Apps
Okay, I’m probably really, really behind everyone on this (in fact, I know I am, but I’m not exactly tech-savvy and some of you may not be, either), but if you’re right there with me and you also have a hard time finding the app you want at any given time, you’ll like this tip as much as I did.
If you’re like me (well, like I was), you’re wading through the apps you swear you’ll use or play “one day” and all those apps you have on there to keep your kid happy in restaurants or on long car rides. I had gotten to the point of not being able to find Facebook on my phone for a quick read of everybody’s status updates, and we all know how tragic that can be.
I never knew you could organize your apps into folders. Seriously. The phone even names them for you when you start combining them, so you don’t have to type anything in unless you just really want to get fancy and rename the folders.
To create a folder, hold your finger down on an app as if you were going to delete it. They start to wiggle and the X appears in the top right corner of each app. Drag one app over a similar one and let it go. Boom. Folder created. Now add other similar apps to that folder.
I wish I could fit more than 12 apps into each folder, but then again, I’d run into that problem of never being able to find anything. Instead, I have Games and Games 2, for example. It condensed my four screens’ worth of apps into one. Amazing.
