Who says because you are pregnant you can’t be fashionable? Back in the days when our moms were pregnant with us, a mom-to-be was basically condemned to tents and moo-moos that were more than likely covered in big bows and polka dots.

Not today, ladies. Today we are afforded the luxury of being able to dress fashionably and cute while we are growing our wee ones.  I’ve found three must-haves for all moms-to-be for this summer. The Dinner party dress by Hatch is my favorite for this summer.

Slip it under a cardigan with a belt or just wear it with your favorite pair of statement pumps – the Dinner Party dress is high-impact with its ultra-flattering neckline and a handkerchief hem that adores breezing through a busy day.

It comes in a variety of colors and in a silk or jersey knit.

The Plisse Shift Dress by Erin Fetherston  is not a maternity dress, but it is roomy enough to be used as one.

Inspired by Pixie-haired ingenues from the 1960s, the Spring 2012 Erin Fetherston collection focused on lighthearted designs with simple silhouettes. The overall result is a line that’s fun, feminine, and easy-to-wear.

The dress is Popsicle pink chiffon, with three-quarter bishop sleeves and a shift silhouette. It looks short in the photo but it falls 21 inches below your natural waist, so it’s not as short as it appears.

The Elbow Sleeve Sleeve Detail Maternity Dress by Suzi Chin is stylish comfort at it’s best.

It comes in moonbeam/black strip color. It has a scoop neck, is a maternity mini (for those hot summer nights) and is very roomy for your growing baby to have plenty of room.

I love the shoes it’s paired with in the photo but, for me, there comes a time in pregnancy when high heels become dangerous, so be careful but be stylish.

What is your must have maternity piece for this spring?
