Mother’s Day is right around the corner (May 13) and while breakfast in bed and an afternoon sipping champagne at your favorite spa following a glorious massage, manicure, pedicure and facial sounds wonderful, I conducted a mini Twitter poll recently and found that what most mothers want is a few precious hours to themselves. Sigh…

I think that Mother’s Day is really about appreciating your role and the children in your life that made you a mom.

Here are some perfect gifts for just that:

My son says and does things all the time that I never want to forget and I may share a lot of them on my personal blog, but this notebook is a great for jotting them down in the moment.

Mom’s One Line a Day (Chronicle Books $16.00) Who has time to scrapbook? Not Mommy! For the busy mom-on-the-go, this memory keeper offers a quick and easy way to capture the everyday moments of motherhood. With enough space to record a single thought, a family quote, or a special event each day for five years, this beautiful keepsake makes sure those precious memories will last a lifetime.

I’ve had my eye on this bracelet for a while. It’s pretty and encompasses my most important role to date: mom.

Languages of Mom Bracelet (Red Envelope $99.95) Love cannot be translated into words, but this bracelet comes close. The elliptical shape sits comfortably about the hand and is a symbol for infinity. Crafted of polished-sterling silver and etched with “mom” in 32 different languages. A fitting tribute to the universal language of mom’s eternal love.

With over 10,000 digital photos of my son doing fascinating things like eating, running around the park or blowing bubbles in the backyard, I am already an official member of the mom-arazzi and while my iPhone takes pretty good photographs, a “real” camera would be awesome!

Canon EOS Rebel T2i Digital SLR Camera body only shown above (Ritz Camera $599.99) The new flagship of the EOS Rebel line, Canon EOS Rebel T2i brings professional EOS (Electro-Optical System) features into an easy to use, lightweight digital SLR that’s a joy to use.

If you’re like me, you barely print out your photographs anymore. Another super gift would be a gift certificate to Shutterfly, Lulu, Snapfish or the like.

Photo Books (a Shutterfly Custom Path photo book is shown above. Prices vary from $12.99 – $54.99). Photo books are a special way to cherish and preserve your memories and a professionally bound photo book makes the perfect keepsake and gift. They are one-of-a-kind creations that come in a variety of different sizes with lots of cover options and unique backgrounds to fill the pages with your own story.

I’m pretty sure hand picked flowers, just about anything made by your child’s own two hands and doused in glue and glitter, a guaranteed daily two hour nap or a subscription to the Wine of the Month Club would probably make you swoon, too. Whatever your heart desires this Mother’s Day, I hope you have a happy one and appreciate each and every moment spent with your children.

Love the “One Line a Day” book. I’m always wanting to remember or take note of things my girls say, but don’t have a designated place for them. Inevitably, they end up lost in my brain forever or on some random piece of paper that gets covered in crayon by one of my little artists! So yeah…a little keepsake book would be great for that!
Hope you have a wonderful Mother’s Day as well! =)

I would consider trading my youngest for the camera.
