Lettrs App~ Keeping Romance Alive
The lettrs app has me giddy. I am one of those weird people who, even though I am tech savvy and live completely immersed in the digital world, loves hardcopies.
I like film developed, I take notes, I write lists and I love to write and receive handwritten letters. There is just something about the tangibility of a letter that someone has taken the time, in this busy world, to think about and execute for you. This app does that for the digital age.
The lettrs app powers the correspondence cloud to share old letters and write new ones. It’s like a tiny, digital “post office in your hand” to deliver personal letters, via the cloud platform or convenient paper-postal option with tasteful treatments.
What? This is so cool. I love that the lettrs app is so old school that it gets people back to the basics. Personally, I prefer the paper-postal option. I can’t wait to send my mom a letter delivered by snail mail. It’ll be just like freshman year at college back in the dark ages of the early nineties.
The lettrs company is singlehandedly reviving and reinventing letter writing for the digital age. The lettrs mobile app converts mobile voice, data and pictures into digital letters in the cloud and paper post letters. It allows busy people to dictate, organize, and deliver letters, helping to revive a more thoughtful mode of personal communication.
In a world where everyone is connected via third party media, it is nice to have something personal to still connect us to one another directly.
Features of the lettrs mobile app:
• It allows users to type or dictate a letter on their iPhone, using more than 20 themes covering modern, vintage and artful digital treatments
• Users can choose to deliver their letter in a hand addressed, wax sealed and scented envelope from the lettrs postal center for only $8 to anywhere in the world. How awesome and romantic is that? I’d physically swoon if my husband sent me one of these.
• Users can use their iPhone camera to upload a handwritten letter and deliver it via the lettrs system. Just in case you want that handwritten feel but prefer a more instant delivery gratification.
• Users can preserve and share a hand written letter via the unique lettrs fridge. Aww, just like I do with my girls artwork. Secret: My husband made me the most amazing card for our anniversary earlier this month and it is on my fridge because it meant so much to me.
Users also can connect their iPhone contacts to the lettrs app for easy postal delivery. Needing only one specific identifier of an individual (such as an email address), a person can send a letter anywhere in the world, all from an Internet browser or a lettrs mobile app.
Would you use a tech app to send an old school letter? I think it is brilliant. We all spend so much time immersed in tech that the only way we will ever get back to direct human-to-human contact is via tech.
When’s the last time you wrote someone a letter?
