Have you heard of the new app Karoo? I had the privilege of being a part of a small group of bloggers who got to beta test the new app. What is it? Karoo is a new app that allows parents to never miss another milestone again while they are at work.
It’s an app that provides constant communication between a parent and their child’s care giver so you can be there for even the smallest moments: smiles, first sentence, learning to sit up, crawl and walk or just to hear them say your name or know the games they play when you are at work. With Karoo, the parent guilt can be alleviated and the moments can be shared with family.
Think of Karoo as that digital baby book that you had every single intention of completing but never got around to. With Karoo, you have several contributors ( you, your spouse, and care givers and whomever else you decide to share your timeline with). It will become second nature and it’s at your fingertips all day long.
Parents can get constant updates on feeding and naps, check in on temperatures and medicine administration, videos of first steps, photos at soccer practice – they’re all at your fingertips with the Karoo app.
Plus, Karoo is completely FREE. So you can add all the photos and videos you want, without any membership or storage fees. Just sign up and start sharing your child’s moments.
Features that parents love about Karoo:
• Capture and share pictures, videos and stories
• Highlight special moments and important firsts
• Get feeding, medical and other updates with CareLogs
• Share stories with grandparents and friends
• Choose who can see and add to your timeline
• Have all your family memories in one place.
• Add all of your children and tag them in posts (similar to Facebook but the timeline owner/parent has complete control over who can see the information about their children)
Why caregivers love Karoo:
• Help parents and kids stay connected and informed without constant phone calls.
• Send feeding, medical and other updates with CareLogs.
• Share heartwarming moments, photos and video on the timeline for parents to see and keep.
• Build bond and trust with family.
Why grandparents, aunts and uncles love Karoo:
• Makes it easy to stay close with grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
• Access to see pictures, videos and stories all in one place.
• Ability to add comments and ask questions about the children.
•Share special family moments of their own.
•Send congratulations and best wishes.
The Karoo app has only been live since September 18th and I have played with it extensively. I can’t wait to share it with my sisters and brothers so that we can all set up accounts for our children and share our timelines.
These childhood moments only happen once and it’s amazing to be able to share them in real time with the people you love. For example, my 16-year-old nephew is getting his license next week and that is, indeed, a milestone in his life that we all want to share in, but we can’t all go to the DMV with him.
Well, we could, but we’d look like a bunch of psychos.
With Karoo, we can all be there with him at his big moment. Tomorrow, my 7-year-old finds out the results to her Nutcracker audition. The entire family is waiting to hear if she is cast and what part she will have in the Nutcracker. You can bet, as soon as I see the cast list, I am snapping a photo and sharing it on my timeline for all the family to share in.
Do you Karoo? What are you waiting for? It’s free!
