One of my favorite things about summertime is the sundress. I’m a girly girl and I love everything about the look and feel of a soft sundress in the summer sun.
Obviously, there are some dresses that look better on than others. It has a little to do with the dress itself and a lot more to do with the fit and cut of the dress on the body of the person wearing the dress.
Here are a few general do’s and don’ts of wearing sundresses.
Do choose to wear a dress that fits your waist and upper body properly; not too tight or too baggy and definitely not too short.
Do make sure that your sundresses waistband hits the smallest part of your waist or it will make you look thick around the middle. No one wants to add girth to her waist.
Do wear thick straps on your sundress if you are top heavy and need to wear a heavy-duty bra. The thick straps will help hide the straps and indentations.
Do wear a pleated halter top sundress if you are small chested and it will create the illusion of a larger chest.
Do wear a v-neckline and slim cinched waist. You will look amazing. This cut flatters every body type.
Do not wear a sundress above the knee. It is a hard look to pull off. Women usually end up wearing the sundress too short or too flouncy, the result is looking like you are walking around all day in your nightgown. Nobody looks good running around town in their nightie. Keep the teddies strictly for the bedroom.
What is your favorite type of sundress?
