How To Shop Online and Save Money

I LOVE to shop online. I can browse through online websites for hours, making lists of items I want and items I need. Whether it is for myself, my kids, or our home, I can find everything I need online – at great discount prices.

But you really have to know where to find the deals! If you just Google an item that you are looking for, keep in mind that the links that show up first are usually links being paid for. With a little patience, an email account, and some good old fashion price comparisons, you can dress yourself and your family, as well as your home, for WAY less than you’d pay at a department store.

There are lots of discount or “deal” sites out there . . . but these are some of my favorites.

BabySteals.com and KidSteals.com

Both of these sites, BabySteals.com and KidSteals.com work the same way an do offer the same type products…but one site is for babies and the other is for older kids.

Both sites feature one “steal” every day that isemailed right to your inbox at 9am MDT. The catch? When the steal is gone, it’s gone. And it’s first come, first serve so you’ve got to be fast.

Products sell for 50%–80% off the regular price, and shipping is reasonable. The products that they feature are products that you probably already use or are familiar with. Both of these are my go-to sites for the kids.

ideeli

ideeli offers their members a varying selection of limited-time sales that feature women’s, men’s, and kids’ apparel and accessories, home products and more. The prices are incredible – at up to 80% off regular prices.

The new sales launch every day at 12 PM EST, and the sales last 40 hours. Items are available on a first-come, first-served basis – and they go very quickly.

Totsy

While Totsy’s membership is by invitation or request only, I’ve never heard of anybody not being offered the chance to join.

Totsy offers moms on-the-go access to brand-specific sales, up to 90% off retail, just for them and the kids, ages 0-8. Each sale lasts only 48 to 72 hours, so you’ve got to jump on them if you want to make a purchase.

Totsy sales include: prenatal care products, baby gear, travel accessories, bedding and bath, children’s clothing, toys, DVDs, and educational materials. Totsy promises only the best in quality and designer brands.

You’ll receive free shipping on your first purchase, and Totsy plants one tree in honor of your child when you make your first purchase.

Zulily

I’ll be honest, Zulily is one of my favorite sites! Zulily offers daily sales events on top-quality apparel, gear and other goodies for moms, babies and kids. You can find the best brands at the lowest prices . . . up to 90% off retail prices. Not only will you find deals on your favorite styles, but you’ll find lots of new brands, too.

Zulily also requires a membership, but it is free and signing up is really easy.

I recently bought 2 pairs of designer boots for less the price of one pair of them if I had bought them at Nordstrom! I was so excited with the purchase that I invited all my friends to check out the site, too . . . and every time you invite a friend to join and they make their first purchase, you get $15!

There are so many other sites out there as well . . . what’s your favorite online deal site?

Zulily is my FAVORITE! They have an iphone app, too, which is awesome because it will alert you when sales start and saves your size info, etc. Easy to catch the good stuff. Occasionally The Mini Social will have some really great designers but I haven’t seen anything I have loved in a long time. Also, GILT group has high end designers with really good quality stuff, not as inexpensive as the others, but the items usually ship within a day or so !

I typically still shop in “real” stores … seems I am missing out! My caution is the time it would take to return stuff that didn’t fit, etc. Is this an issue?

I will bookmark this post and start checking these sites out. Thanks.

I have heard so many great things about Zulilly. I will really have to try shopping there. I LOVE great deals!
