According to ELLE, smaller heels are in again. Now, I love high heels. The taller the better, whether they make me tower over everybody else or not. However, I don’t love high heels when I’m chasing my daughter around, nor do I like to walk around in sneakers if I’m not working out.

I’m pretty sure I’m far from alone when I say that what’s in or not in style at any given time doesn’t really matter to me personally that much. I do tend to observe and admire the new styles, pick up one or two things I fall in love with, then continue to wear whatever I have in my closet, can afford, and whatever fits my day at the time.

But low heels being in style again means something good for moms: more copycat cute, affordable heels that you can do just about anything in, on any day, and more shoes in your closet to choose from that satisfy that range between sneakers and date night shoes.

These heels aren’t just short, they’re chunky, too, so they’re so stable enough to run if you have toddlers. I remember walking miles around school and on the weekends in my Mary Janes with heels just like this back in the 90′s with very few issues.

If you’re a working mom who goes to an office every day, there will hopefully be more options for you, too, that keep you from carting around two pairs of shoes—heels for work and flats for getting there.

The shoes in the ELLE article are designer, of course, but we can probably expect to see the trend picking up in stores like Target and Payless, for all that shoe shopping on a whim (and a budget).

Check out Miz Mooz and Aerosoles for comfy, small heals and STYLISH shoes. (Yes, I said Aerosoles – if carefully curated they can be amazing.) Plus, they’re not overly expensive.

I’m so glad! Shoe stores have been filled with shoes I could never wear to work–or ones I wouldn’t spend money on. I’m glad I’ll have cute, smaller heels to choose from again!
