I would love to wear certain fashion looks, however I know that sometimes clothing just doesn’t look right on my body type. Big, bulky sweaters make me look like I’m being eaten alive by the sweater. Skinny jeans make me look like a chubby woman trying to wear too-tight-too-small jeans. Who likes skinny jeans anyways?! If you know your body type, there are certain looks that you can put together to make you look like a runway model. Okay, I might be exaggerating there, but certain looks will definitely flatter your body more than others! Here are some ways to look good no matter what body type you’ve got.
If You Are Pregnant…
Flaunt it, mama! How about a cropped but tailored jacket that is open to give you and your baby bump lots of wiggle room? Dress it up with a cute scarf and your favorite pair of jeans and you are ready to go!
Speaking of favorite jeans, you can probably wear them far into your pregnancy if you own a belly band. These soft, comfy bands allow you to unzip and unbutton your jeans and hide that you aren’t zipped up. A pregnancy must have!
If You Just Had A Baby…
Comfy and roomy are musts for your body right now! Don’t even try to put those pre-baby jeans on. Instead, opt for cropped boyfriend jeans, flats, and button down shirts (much easier to work with if you are breast feeding). If you don’t want to wear cropped jeans, or maybe you already have a favorite pair of boyfriend jeans, you can always roll them up to give them a more trendy look.
If You’re A Curvy Girl…
Flaunt that too! Plaids will keep you from looking too curvy. Try a plaid button-down with a fitted top underneath. Tuck your button-down into your pants for a stylish, confident look.
If You Have A Long Torso…
Wear dresses (patterned or single colored) with a bold patterned belt. Make sure the belt sits high on your waist to make your torso appear shorter.
If You’re Busty…
Tribal patterned clothing is big right now, and can help camouflage your bust. But you don’t have to hide it! If you decide to wear a deep V neckline, just make sure that you don’t add any statement pieces to draw attention to your chest – the goal is to look stylish but not draw too much attention back to your bust. Unless you want to. Then you go, girl!
If You Are Missing A Waistline…
No curves? No problem! You can fake a waistline by choosing a fitted jacket buttoned up in the middle…nobody will know your waistline isn’t there.
