Every once in a while here at Smart Mom Style, we’ll save you some time by prying you away from the thousands upon thousands of Etsy shops out there and showing you the best of what we’ve found on your behalf.

Your time is precious, so you’re welcome — we’re giving a heaping helping of it back to you, along with some super cute finds. (Pssst… links to each shop can be found at the end of this post.)

Today’s theme is vintage — as in actual vintage, not just vintage-inspired or vintage-esque. The quartet of delights we scooped up to show you are all from another time and place, and each likely has a story to tell.

First, there’s the set of three one-quart milk bottles (above) from back in the day when there was actually such a thing as a milk man. Remember that? No? Us either, but we’ve heard about it, and there’s something sort of Rockwellian and sweet about the idea. Ellen of Vintage Linens Plus will be happy to send them your way for $18.

Next, we have a trio of milk glass vases, an undeniably classic and rather hard to find finish. Those little 3D polka dots are called “hobnails,” and once graced the finest of dinner tables for the fanciest of occasions. Shifting Years, the purveyor of this particular set, has a pretty extensive collection of milk glass in different textures, but we think this series is perfect for a starter set. It sells for $34.

Maybe you’re a font snob, or you love German antiques, or you have a sweet tooth and love to bake. If any of these things is an accurate description of you, take a peek at this vintage German kitchen canister set from Simple Joys Decor. Fifteen pieces of timeless European kitchenware for $65? Yes, please!

And finally, we end on a seasonal note: there won’t be any eggs falling out of the bottom of these spring baskets; their bases are made of wood. Just in time for Easter — and springtime in general — they can be filled to the brim with chocolate eggs or used as the base of a spring flower arrangement. Whatever strikes your fancy, Teresa Tudor can help you make it happen for $15.

My grandmother had some milk glass candy dishes. I was always sneaking candy from them as a kid.
