Color Obsession: Ahoy, Navy

Elle Decor calls it the new neutral, and we can’t blame them; after all, navy blue is basically a color from the sea, and since land and sea form the basis for what we consider to be earth tones or neutral hues, the argument holds water.  (See what we did there?)

Not as stark as black, but still a statement color all its own that goes with more complementary shades than one might think, navy blue is a clean, classic foundation color on which to design a space. We’re paying close attention today to living rooms and bedrooms, with a chair from Urban Outfitters that would be equally at home in either spot.

Paired with white, it’s always a crisp choice just teeming with class, and it’s still dark enough to hide the stains and spills that invariably come with motherhood. So ahoy, mateys… climb aboard!

Go navy! If it can look that beautiful and hide kids’ stains I’m all in.
