Bombshell Lashes

I have always had long lashes but have always wanted thick, lush ones. You know, like Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian. I love the bombshell eyelashes look. Unfortunately, I am not crazy for fake eyelashes and I don’t think I can justify the cost of eyelash extensions. False eyelashes are a little awkward and can get itchy. Not to mention, I’d imagine it’s pretty embarrassing if they go rogue. Or so I’ve heard. But I really want those thick, dark, long lashes. I came up with a recipe for bombshell lashes, using your own eyelashes. Here’s how you can get frugal, fantastic and fabulously natural bombshell eyelashes.

  • First, using an eyelash curler, curl your eyelashes.
  • Second, apply mascara to the topside of your top eyelashes. Do this three times.
  • Third, apply mascara as you normally would on the bottom side of your top eyelashes. Brushing upwards towards the ceiling and fanning them out so that they look fuller. Start first with the inner eyelashes, using the wand and stroking your eyelashes towards your nose, then stroking your middle eyelashes towards your forehead and finally, stroke your outer eyelashes in the direction of your temples. Repeat this 3 times as well.
  • Fourth, apply mascara to your bottom lashes. Holding the wand vertically, gently apply mascara being sure not to clump or transpose mascara onto your under eye area.

Voila, you now have fuller looking, longer, dramatic bombshell eyelashes. They make a statement without the uncomfortable and unnatural look of fake eyelashes or the cost of extensions. You also don’t have to worry that your sister’s 8 month old is going to pull one off in public and put it in his mouth. Or so I’ve heard.

Confession – I bought fake lashes the other day. I will try these tips first, because I am scared to glue my eyes together ;)

I’ve never tried fake lashes. I’ve always heard not to put mascara on the bottom lashes for some reason.

I never heard to not put mascara on the bottom lashes. I wonder why. I have worn it on the bottom lashes since I was a teenager. Maybe I better look into it.
