The folks writing Smart Mom Style are real moms with real style. Meet our team:
Deborah Cruz, better known as @Truthful Mommy, is a writer, wife, and semi-crunchy Ninja Mommy. Self-proclaimed tech junkie and Fashionista. Deborah spends her days drinking coffee in suburbia, shuttling little ones and planning social media world domination and occasionally, she sleeps.
Nicole is a stiletto wearing, cabernet sipping mom who takes pride in the fact that she has never worn “mom jeans” – although admittedly, she has had to give into the dreaded minivan. Nicole is a seasoned military wife and a mother to three lovely ladies – a 7-year old and 2-year-old twins.
Nicole is a temporarily retired educator, freelance writer and social media enthusiast. When Nicole isn’t sharing her thoughts on style here at Smart Mom Style, you can find her writing at Moments that Define Life, her personal blog, as well as at Smart Mom Picks, Modern Home Modern Baby, and Savvy Sassy Moms. Nicole is also a regular features writer for Military Spouse Magazine, a print publication that reaches military spouses nationally as well as internationally.
Natalie is a SAHM of three children: her 4-year-old son and 2-year-old twin girls. She writes Mommy of a Monster, which is all about the day-to-day chaos that comes with chasing three kids in three different directions, usually all at the same time.
In her free time, which she rarely has anymore, she reads, writes, cooks, gardens, drinks wine, and works as a freelance writer.
Amy is a freelance writer covering style & design, home decor, green living and pop culture. In another life, she handled public relations for several non-profit organizations, worked in state government, and served as a community director for a website helping women get over heartbreak.
Amy’s writing has appeared on CNBC.com, AND Magazine, Interior Complex, Furniture Fashion, Smart Mom Style, Modern Home Modern Baby, YourTango, The Huffington Post, and her own blog about becoming a writer. She lives in Austin, Texas with her impossible corgi-basenji mix, Bogey.
Tonya writes the blog Letters For Lucas as a way of documenting Lucas’ childhood and maintaining her sanity. Turns out listening to Dave Matthews and consuming red wine helps too.
Tonya also writes about her grief over the tragic loss of both of her parents, her struggles to have a second child, her coveted “me time†and all the other ups and downs of motherhood. Just like you, she has good days and bad days and does her best to be open and honest with every key stroke.
