Look out ladies, there is a new blog conference in town and I am pretty sure it’s going to be the new one to beat. This October, Aiming Low will be hosting it’s first ever NonConference.
What the hell is a non-conference you ask? Well, let me explain. The NONCON is going to take all the great things that you used to love about the big conferences, before they got too big, and none of the crazy drama of the toilet bowl wand incident of 2012.
You can expect smaller venue, less people, one-on-one encounters and receiving answers to your questions; not leaving more befuddled than you arrived.
The Aiming Low NonCon is going to be good people, talking and listening to one another to grow in our field. There will be no panels talking at you. It will be engaging. There will be back and forth – hell, we encourage it. Think of it as seeing Dave Matthews live at your neighborhood bar rather than live at the Rosemont.
I’ve been told that regardless of the location of blog conferences, target audience and potential “take-away,†unplanned conversations lead to the strongest relationships and unforgettable learning moments. That’s what I want in a blog conference. Well, that and to meet all the awesome people that I’ve come to know and love online. Yeah, I’m talking to you!
In this spirit, Aiming Low has created the first Non-Conference.
The Aiming Low Non-Conference is an event meant to get back to the core values of blogging. It will be a weekend full of question and answers and information sharing. There will be NO PANELS, just a learning environment where you are welcomed to ask about the personal, technical, seeking, slightly embarrassing questions you might have and get honest, genuine answers from both Aiming Low staff and your peers.
Yep, that’s me! I will be heading the Channel talk roundtable along with the amazing Kimberli Barney and Liz Henry. I cannot wait and I hope to see you all there. I will be the one in awe of you and handing out hugs.
The #ALNonCon will be held at Callaway Gardens in beautiful Georgia. October 12-13, 2012.
And the best part of all? There will be NO conference attendance cost. If that is not enough incentive, Ree Drummond, the one and only Pioneer Woman, will be the closing keynote speaker.
You read that right. There will be no registration fees! Will I be seeing you at the Aiming Low Non Conference this October?
