5 Wardrobe Essentials for Fall

No matter what stage of life we are in, women like to be stylish. While the designers create styles that most of us would never wear, we can take their ideas and make them our own once we know what the basics are.

Here are five essentials that you will want to add to your wardrobe this fall.

Colored Denim

Red, purple, yellow – whatever your favorite color, there is an item of denim clothing that matches it. Choose from jackets, capris, jeans, or denim skirts in a variety of brights and animal prints.

Leather Cropped Jacket

Top your colored denim with a cropped leather jacket – preferably in red. Hitting just below the ribcage, this style will show off your waistline, but beware if you are petite or carrying extra in your midsection. It can really make you look short and wide. Try several different styles and see which you like best.

Plaids in all colors show up in everything this fall. Plaid flannel shirts are classic casual, but designers are showing plaid blazers, shoes, handbags, and even maxi skirts. Bulky plaid sweaters and coats are perfect for an autumn stroll while lighter weight plaid silks work for office or evening.

Bright colors are 2012’s fashion favorite.

  • Tangerine
  • Flamingo pink
  • Purple
  • Chartreuse green

You can fit bright colors into your wardrobe no matter what your personal style might be. If you love the bold look, go big with blocks of bright color. Are you more conservative? Choose bright accessories to mix with more conservative wardrobe essentials.

Black Tights

Black plays off the bright colors and plaids perfectly so it’s no surprise that black tights are a wardrobe must have. Wear black tights and ankle boots with a bright skirt and black sweater or your favorite plaid dress.

How much do you follow fashion trends?
