Christmas time, or really any gift giving occasion, can be stressful. Most people put off gift buying and then have to fight the crowds at the mall, credit card in hand, and no idea what they are getting their loved ones.

You always want to give something memorable while still staying in budget, and as the years go by the choices get harder and harder to make. After all, they have everything! Here are five sites, conveniently located on the Internet, where you can get unique, unusual, awesome, and person gifts for everyone on your list.

Cloud 9 Living

Eventuall,y everyone you know has enough stuff. They don’t need on more collectible Snowbaby, they have too many ties, and the cupboards are full of cool coffee cups. It becomes more difficult to find that unusual gift – the one that tells the recipient that not only are they special to you but you are just plain awesome.

Cloud 9 Living has experiences for sale. Your loved one can be a fighter pilot for a day and fly a real plane, take a chocolate making class with a master chocolatier, or take glass blowing classes. There are lunch cruises, white water rafting – you name it they provide it.

Padilly

Kids can be really hard to buy for. Electronic games can only take you so far – and you’d rather they didn’t spend so much time on TV, xBox, and the computer, right? Padilly has some unique toys and games that are fun.

For example, Make and Break is a game where the players have to build a “building” exactly like the card they pulled before the timer goes off. Ten wooden blocks are all they get to use. Great for developing thinking skills but also loads of fun.

Incredible Things

Beer soap? A sled that works on grass so it can be used all year? These are just two of the unique items you’ll find at Incredible Things. They cater to all ages of unique, from baby to granddad. The perfume collector who thinks she has sniffed it all will be amazed at Frozen Margarita perfume. It will take hours to browse this site so grab your coffee.

Uncommon Goods

You can find Periodic Table building blocks, bowls made from old records, and a thousand other things at Uncommon Goods. They carry items that are handmade, Earth-friendly, and recycled as well. The company is focused on making a positive impact on the world through the items they sell, their policy of “giving back”, and being socially and environmentally responsible.

Opulent Items

For those of you who have money to burn, Opulent Items is an incredible array of stuff no one else has. You can put a real hovercraft under the tree along with a bathroom sink and counter top that is also an aquarium. Everyone needs an MP3 player that floats in the bathtub, right? While a lot of the stuff is out of most of our budgets, they do have some unique items under $100.00

What’s on your wishlist?

While I HATE the thought of shopping for Christmas while it’s still October, I do like finding suggestions for something more unusual. Each year it is getting harder and harder to find neat things for my favorite people. Will check these out. Love that fishy sink, too!
